Some people have asked me what I like besides writing.

Horses, horses, horses were the dreams of my childhood. My parent's lived in an apartment in Indianapolis until I was ten. That didn't stop little four year old me to beg for a pony that I thought we could easily keep under the stairway that led to the back yard. At ten, my horse was a low branch in a tree behind our house.. By that time I had a six shooter like Roy Rodgers.
Time flew by, I fell in love with Suzie, who also loved horses, and her friend Carol let us keep our horses on the property she was renting.

In 1971 we bought a 52 acre farm and in four years began breeding Arabian horses.

To read more about Leila and Suzie's lives on the farm and beyond go to In Spite of Everything for the woman she loved/Leila Peters author.
